| The name of the Blaufränkisch grape variety is said to date back to the time of Charlemagne when all precious grape varieties were classified as "frankish" as a determination of high quality. Central Burgenland is the most improtant growing region for this variety and is, therefore, known as "Blaufränkischland". The wine from this uniquely and typically Austrian grape is deeply red and fruity, sometimes a little volatile when young but elegant and velvety upon maturing. | | |  | Blaufränkisch Classic 2004

| This grape variety was developed by Prof. Fritz Zweigelt in the 1920s who successfully crossed Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent grapes. When young, the Zweigelt has a very fruity bouquet which becomes softer and more elegant with age. Its qualities range from table wine to be drunk young to powerful wines for laying down. The Zweigelt grape also serves as an excellent ingredient for red wine cuvées. | | |  | Zweigelt 2007

| A recently created new grape variety, it is designed to be environmentally friendly. Following its initial cultivation at the Wine Research Institute of Eger in 1948, it received variety protection in Hungary in 1978 and classification in 1982. Our own trial plantings started in 1993. The variety is resistant against fungi and other pests and does not require agricultural chemicals for cultivation. | | |  | Bianca 2004
